Reborn: Brain & Novaglitch from Bogotá - Colombian drum & bass takes root

School friends in Bogotá, separated by years of different paths, Brain and Novaglitch have just released *Renacer* - their first full album on the ID Bogotá Music label. A rebirth in minimal DnB.

Brain and Novaglitch have known each other since school. The musical connection didn't happen at that time—it came years later, during a drum & bass night in Bogotá, when the genre was still marginal in Colombia. Since then, they've never really stopped trying to figure out how to work together.

What brought them together again

After the Time EP in 2020, their paths diverged. Brain moved to the United Kingdom. Novaglitch became a father. Years of geographical distance, solo projects, and then—a reconnection. They started by exchanging stems and video calls before Brain returned to Colombia to finalize what was supposed to be an EP and ended up becoming a full album: Renacer.

The title, in Spanish, means "rebirth" or "to rise again." Every track on the album has Spanish titles—a deliberate choice in a genre still musically dominated by the British scene.

Their complementary styles

They work in complementary areas without stepping on each other's toes. Brain handles bass design and mastering—bringing clarity and technical polish. Novaglitch focuses on atmospheres and textures, experimental creativity. What each does well, the other doesn’t try to do better: they make room for it.

Existencia, featuring MC Vispera, marks their first joint foray into dubstep. Vispera raps in English and Spanish—a way to hold both worlds, the global scene and Colombian roots, without choosing one over the other.

The sound

Minimal, futuristic, emotional drum & bass. No jungle roots or identity-driven DnB—just forward-looking DnB with dubstep incursions, carrying the sonic imprint of Bogotá without trying to mimic what’s happening in Bristol or London.

Renacer is out now on ID Bogotá Music, Brain’s label. Local scene, global reach.
