Kieran Foster (Illformed/dblue) passed away at 47 years old - Glitch2, his cult multi-effect, is now freeware

The creator of Glitch and Glitch2 passed away last month. His sister Joni, along with Taktik and Beatslaughter, made Glitch2 free in his honor - macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Kieran Foster, known by the stage names Illformed and dblue, has passed away at the age of 47. The news was announced by his sister Joni, along with his collaborators Taktik and Beatslaughter, who have decided to make Glitch2 free in his memory.

The plugin is available for download at illformed.com for macOS, Windows, and Linux (VST/VST3/AU formats).

What is Glitch2?

Glitch2 is a multi-effects sequencer designed to slice, crush, pitch, reverse, and reshape sounds into radically new forms. Its effect modules include: reverse, timestretching, pitch-bending, delay, distortion, ring modulation, beat repeat, trance gate—all controlled by a step sequencer, randomization options, and support for up to 128 MIDI-triggerable scenes.

The original Glitch was released in 2005 as freeware. Glitch2 was its commercial successor—it now joins its predecessor in the realm of free tools.
