Precinct present “Ostinato”, the first release of “Liquid Lounge”, a new series from Salford producer Dogger.
Liquid Lounge is drum & bass with the lights down: lounge jazz, warm keys and unhurried space. Elevator music for
Jungalists.
It was written where it sounds like it was written: a mid-century living room full of teak, vinyl and old hi-fi. Inspired by his
surroundings, the music comes easily, and it’s presented with a palette of colours and visuals that runs throughout the
series.
The title track takes its name from the ostinato: a repeating rhythmic figure. Here the bassline does exactly that, looping
until it stops being a part and becomes the whole thing, while the drums sit underneath and the keys drift over the top.
B-side “Coda” takes the other half of the idea, the passage that closes things out.
