DRKNET - « Interfaced » (Valkyrie Music): MEL and Enta sign a debut neurofunk EP tailored for warehouse

Two producers who each terrorized dancefloors on their own now come together under a common banner. A first EP announced for July 31 on Valkyrie Music, with a first Data Transmission already in circulation.

The atmosphere in one sentence

Neurofunk without frills, designed for warehouse sound systems - the Data Transmission brochure describes a project that "arrives fully formed," without the energy of a first draft. The pitch is clear: no filler, no polite intros, tracks built to explode.

What we know about the release

  • Label: Valkyrie Music
  • Release date: July 31, 2026
  • Format: EP debut of the duo DRKNET
  • Producers: MEL and Enta, two figures who operated solo until now
  • Confirmed premiere: Unorthodoxxed (feat. 2SHY MC), premiered on Data Transmission

The rest of the tracklist is not detailed in the press release I had in hand - so I refrain from commenting blindly.

What MEL and Enta each bring

According to Data Transmission, MEL brings "high-octane double drops" and a brutal heaviness, no compromise. Enta comes with technical precision and explosive basslines. On paper, the complementarity is obvious: the rhythmic brutality of the first aligned with the surgical sound design of the second, it creates neurofunk that has substance - not gratuitous wall-of-noise.

Provisional verdict

I don't judge the music until I've played the EP on the system, but the context is solid: Valkyrie Music is a label that knows how to choose its artists, MEL and Enta each have their dancefloor history, and a first EP announced with a solid premiere is rarely a sign of a rushed project. Must listen as soon as it drops on the 31st, I'll come back to it after playing it on the monitor.
